Check. Some of the similarities to our real world situation were surprising in their accuracy. Reading it, I found it hard to believe that the book was not written after Covid-19 hit our world. The debut novel Severance by Ling Ma is the story of a mysterious illness that hits the world slowly at first and then snowballs quickly into something that overruns the world.
